If you are not your teams only engage then wait for the engage to happen then try to go for their carry. You will have a lot more sustain but a little less damage so you have to play it mechanicly better with your ultimate.

The only reason people don't play this way and abuse Hullbreaker is because no one has told them to yet and the overwhelming majority of players don't think for themselves.
